After a successful 23-year career in the nonprofit sector, Jodi Segal founded Big Change Consulting because she noticed a striking pattern: many organizations struggle with building the solid infrastructure they need to achieve their missions. She knew she had the experience and know-how to help nonprofit leaders breathe a sigh of relief when it came to the challenges they face with their operations, HR and fundraising.

Our goal is to be a trusted partner who can help you create a game plan, overcome obstacles, and teach your team to do this work effectively. Collaboration is at the core of who we are, so we also take thoughtful care in recommending vetted service providers such as accountants, payroll providers, banks, insurance agents, benefits providers, and attorneys when the time calls for additional experience.

Our number one priority is always to advance your mission. We have spent our careers working among passionate, driven, and principled people because we share their commitment to make a meaningful impact. We apply our knowledge of organizational management as a whole with our deep technical expertise to help organizations become more efficient and effective. By sharing our nonprofit operations knowledge, resources, skills, and experience, we want to help your organization achieve BIG change.

Jodi’s experience in growing local, state, and national nonprofit organizations start up, gear up, and clean up their operations, HR, and fundraising. After watching nonprofits struggle to implement effective and efficient operations, she designed Big Change Consulting’s services to solve those inefficiencies and recurring challenges. The benefit of Jodi’s experience for organizations is that she sees around corners and designs streamlined solutions that last. She is passionate about collaborating with leaders to tackle operational hurdles so that they can dedicate their energy to the vital task of fulfilling their mission.

In 2022, Dr. DeShondra Smith, Ed.D, joined Big Change Consulting, bringing with her 11 years of experience in education, coaching, and stakeholder support. Dr. Smith leverages those experiences, along with her expertise in facilitating professional development, curriculum design, fostering best practices, promoting teamwork, developing strategic solutions, and implementing organizational change across all levels, to serve diverse communities of learners.

We also have a wide network of local, regional and national experts to support our clients. We take pride in bringing the right partners to the right projects at the right time.

As an accountant and auditor when someone calls and tells me they are working with Jodi and the Big Change team, I know they are in the best care and I can focus on what I need to do to provide exceptional value to our joint clients.
